I am greatly interested in being considered for a role as an educator with your board. My interest in education has only grown throughout my years of learning and I plan to continue my professional development to enhance my skills as an educator. I feel as though my post-secondary education has prepared me for a contract position within your board and I would be an asset to your teaching team.

Although I have received a Bachelor of Music with Distinction from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Education from Queen's University, my teaching experience reaches beyond this. I began teaching small groups of students in several youth groups as a young teenager. I briefly taught piano lessons from my home to upwards of ten students during my Grade 12 year. I have tutored many students since then throughout my university years. My practicum experiences have given me the chance to practice what I have learned and research the methods that work the best and alter those that may not. Although I lack the years of experience that senior educators have, I do bring fresh eyes and enthusiasm to the teaching profession.

As someone who is enthralled by their learning, I feel as though I have the necessary skills to build committed life-long learners. With my organizational skills and time-management skills, I can ensure that students are well and truly prepared for what waits for them by instilling these skills in them. I am also a strong communicator and can help students build their own communication skills to succeed in their future goals. I am also a strong advocate for safety in schools and safety in the home. I will use the methods taught to me in the Bachelor of Education program to build a safe classroom. I am also prepared to stand up for students who cannot stand up for themselves and ensure my students feel safe and heard.

I look forward to beginning my career as a teacher, especially with your board. I wish to make a positive impact in every student's life and ensure they can thrive in their learning and development. Please, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Thank you for your consideration of me for a teaching position with your board.

Warmest regards,

Melanie Janiuk
